"On 18 December 1920, a certain Mr. Crentsil, a former employee of the Marine Department of the colonial government in Lagos, wrote an extraordinary letter to a contact in the British colony of the Gold Coast, today's Ghana.... BREATHE "I can't breathe". Those were the words he uttered Before his life was snuffed out. "I can't breathe". Those were the words that he uttered Before his life was ended, under the knee of a police officer. He groaned in pain, Pinned to the ground, Unable to move, Unable to breathe, Losing the power, The will to live. And as he gave up, As his life ebbed into nothingness, He sparked a change, a movement. He sparked the cry of a people, Stifled by years, decades of  oppression and racisim By years, decades of unfiltered bigotry and prejudice. "We can't breathe!", they chant. "We can't breathe!".
