KNOW YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS - Zuliat Tolulope Adelodun

A Place without laws should expect no sinners. Still, citizens or occupants of a particular place should be guided by the Laws where it's active

You will agree with me that every form of creature do have rights as we have it today. Humans, Animals even Plants

Here, we will be giving you time to time informations of the Laws of The Federal Republic of Nigeria as regards your RIGHTS

THE CONSTITUTION

The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) is an enactment of the National Assembly and it is the Supreme Law that gives right to the enactment of other Acts and or Laws.

Section 1 (3) provides that the provisions of any other law that is inconsistent with the constitution shall be null and void.

Chapter 4 of the constitution guarantees the various rights of every Nigerian and redress can be sought in a court of law if anyone violates any of the rights.

They include but not limited to Right to Life, freedom of movement,  speech and association etc.

Once any of these rights is being or likely to be violated you are advised to seek redress in the court of law and never allow anyone infringe on your right.

Know your right!!

I CAN NOT BREATHE - AYOMIKUN MISHAEL AFOLAYAN

BREATHE "I can't breathe". Those were the words he uttered Before his life was snuffed out. "I can't breathe". Those were the words that he uttered Before his life was ended, under the knee of a police officer. He groaned in pain, Pinned to the ground, Unable to move, Unable to breathe, Losing the power, The will to live. And as he gave up, As his life ebbed into nothingness, He sparked a change, a movement. He sparked the cry of a people, Stifled by years, decades of  oppression and racisim By years, decades of unfiltered bigotry and prejudice. "We can't breathe!", they chant. "We can't breathe!". And I wonder, If the knee will still be on the neck, Restricting the freedom of a people. And I wonder, If the knee will still be on the neck, Pressing the life out of a people. I wonder, If the knee will ever be removed, If an entire race will be able to live, to breathe. Ayomikun Mishael Afolayan
