THE ESSENCE OF RAMADAN - AZEEZAH ADB GHANIY LAWAL

Bismillah I Rahman Raheem

  Allah the Exalted, says:
"O you who believe! The fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious). Fasting for fixed number of days, but if any of you is ill or on a journey, the same number should be made up from other days. And as for those who can fast in difficulty, (e.g an aged person, pregnant women), they (have a choice ) either to fast  or feed a miskim (poor person) daily. But whoever does good of his own accord, it is better for him.

And that you fast is better for you if only you know. The month of Ramadan in which was revealed Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (btw right and wrong).
So whoever of you sights the (crescent of the first night) of the month of Ramadan, i.e is present at his home, he must fast that month and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number of days which one misses must be paid up from other days" Q2:v183-185

This has evidenced that it is He Allah (swt) that has made fasting compulsory on us His creation, and it has shown how important Ramadan is, even to the extent that when u are unwell, you must pay back the missed ones when you recover.. Even the weak ones that Allah has mentioned, like our pregnant women, n the old ones, we all know how difficult a condition they are, so Allah in His mercy has given them an option, to either fast or feed a miskin, however, He exaggerated, that *"if only we know how majestic it is, it'd be better we fast"*, Subhanallah, this alone is sending a signal about how wonderful this holy month is..
We pray Allah SWT makes it easy on us all and accept our little effort from us...
Whichever I've said that is good, is from Allah, and whichever I have said wrongly, I pray Allah forgives me, it's from Shaytan and Allah is All-knowing and All-wise..

Subhaanaka Allahumma wa bi hamdik ash-adu an laa ilaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atuubu ilayk

I CAN NOT BREATHE - AYOMIKUN MISHAEL AFOLAYAN

BREATHE "I can't breathe". Those were the words he uttered Before his life was snuffed out. "I can't breathe". Those were the words that he uttered Before his life was ended, under the knee of a police officer. He groaned in pain, Pinned to the ground, Unable to move, Unable to breathe, Losing the power, The will to live. And as he gave up, As his life ebbed into nothingness, He sparked a change, a movement. He sparked the cry of a people, Stifled by years, decades of  oppression and racisim By years, decades of unfiltered bigotry and prejudice. "We can't breathe!", they chant. "We can't breathe!". And I wonder, If the knee will still be on the neck, Restricting the freedom of a people. And I wonder, If the knee will still be on the neck, Pressing the life out of a people. I wonder, If the knee will ever be removed, If an entire race will be able to live, to breathe. Ayomikun Mishael Afolayan
